The Magicard Opera color ID card printer comes complete with Magicard ID badging software and Windows drivers, all for US$1399. (EUR1330). Users simply add their own PC and web-cam to have a complete badging system.

The drop-in dye-sublimation ribbon cassette and card dispenser means that the Magicard Opera is easy to setup. Hand-feeding of cards one at a time means no card feeding jams and the dye-sublimation technology embeds the image into the plastic card surface for high-quality, scratch and fade resistant images.

Ultra Electronics chose the ASIS show in New Orleans to launch its all-new range of low-cost dye sub color ID card printers.

The new models download and print a full color single sided CR80 edge to edge card in less than 30 seconds using a USB interface, and are available with optional Hi Co magstripe encoding.
