Ultra Electronics chose the ASIS show in New Orleans to launch its all-new range of low-cost dye sub color ID card printers.

The new models download and print a full color single sided CR80 edge to edge card in less than 30 seconds using a USB interface, and are available with optional Hi Co magstripe encoding.

The Alto and Alto M models include Ultra’s patented Holokote® Custom-Key anti-counterfieting security watermark feature using a CR80 RFID key. The Alto series comes complete with UltraCoverPlusTM 2 year extended warranty in North America and the EEC and is targeted at Access Control OEMs and VARs.

The Opera 100 and Opera 105 models are aimed at catalog direct sales channels and offer standard-logo Holokote® protection and a limited 1 year warranty. They also include a full-function copy of the Magicard IDTM badging software.

The Opera 100 has an MSRP of just $1399 and only requires the addition of a PC and a USB webcam to produce a complete ID badging system which an end-user can set up and operate in 30 minutes or less.

Both printers feature simple dyefilm loading using a drop-in cassette, and blank cards packed in convenient dispensers.
