Government ID Cards
The use of card technology in government is growing beyond the traditional ID cards, drivers licences and military personnel cards, towards new credentials for homeland security, fire, emergency and police services. Government ID projects demand the highest levels of security and card protection. To protect valuable credentials, the use of smart cards to hold and access information is now mandatory, the Magicard Rio Pro and Magicard Prima 4 are ideal for this purpose.
Card encoding
Magicard ID card printers support a wide range of card encoding in the printer.
Mag stripe: A dual coercivity HiCo/LoCo magnetic stripe encoder option which offers encoding on all three tracks with complete user format flexibility.
Chip contact: Optional ISO 7816 internal smart card chip encoding contact station can be combined with the magnetic stripe encoder option (Specify/MS).
Contactless: Various contactless smart card encoding options are available: Mifare, iClass, Inside Technologies, Desfire options available.
Combi: Combi encoding (contact chip, Mifare, Desfire and iClass) is supported by all Magicard printers
Highest level of security

Lamination
Standard or Custom holographic laminates are available for the Prima 4, for visual security combined with card protection. Standard holographic laminates provide attractive security features without the setup cost. For highest security, special order laminates can include features such as holograms, micro text, and color changing images.

Printer-lock
Locking facility for card hopper, card stacker, card reject tray and lamination film spools for higher security.

Ultra Violet ribbon
A dye sublimation Ultra Violet ribbon (YMCK-UV) allows the printing of invisible photographs, logos, text or symbols. The UV ink is not detectable to the naked eye, it is only visible under UV light.
