HSPD-12 ID Cards & MAGICARD

Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) was announced by President Bush in August 2004 defining a new policy for the issuance of a standardized credential for all US Federal employees and contractors.

At the heart of HSPD-12 is a highly-secure ID card, employing biometric technology and visual security to ensure only authorized persons have access to government facilities and information.

Magicard Secure ID Card Printers from Ultra Electronics fully support HSPD-12’s card imaging and encoding requirements.

Two Magicard products provide a choice to government agencies for HSPD-12.  Both products print, laminate, and encode HSPD-12 compliant cards.

  • The Magicard Tango +L integrated ID Card Printer & Laminator is an all-in-one solution, featuring a robust metal construction, plug & play Windows driver, and standard Ethernet and USB.  Both hardware and software locking facilities allow for secure card printing production.    GSA APPROVED PRODUCT.

  • The Magicard Prima reverse transfer printer with in-line laminator module provides for the highest print quality. Advanced batch printing facilities include the option of running several printers in parallel for large volume printing applications.

Both the Magicard Tango +L and the Magicard Prima card printer models carry a comprehensive two year warranty, UltraCoverPlus,  which includes direct technical support from Ultra Electronics, the manufacturer of Magicard printers, and overnight printer loaner service if required.

Ultra Electronics, the manufacturer of Magicard Secure ID Card Printers, are a leading supplier of military, aerospace and security technology to the US Government, employing more than 1,000 people in North America.
